The land, formerly owned by Plum Creek Timber Company, comprises nearly 75 square miles of forestland between Snoqualmie Pass and Cle Elum. It is the largest acquisition by the Conservancy in this state. The Conservancy states that the land is important for people and wildflife alike, and that the purchase “is a rare opportunity for residents to conserve a precious piece of Washington’s natural heritage in the Cascade Mountains.”

Mr. Stevens’ talk is free and open to the public. The Friends of the Roslyn Library will provide refreshments.
